Sofia’s Kitchen: recipes and wines in Sunlit Paths to the Amalfi Coast

Sofia’s Kitchen, in the back of Sunlit Paths to the Amalfi Coast, collects dishes from Sicily and the Amalfi Coast — pasta alla norma, delizia al limone — plus a wine list. Full methods stay in the novel. Kindle ASIN B0FXVSNTGS.

What is Sofia’s Kitchen?

Sofia’s Kitchen is the recipe appendix in Sunlit Paths to the Amalfi Coast: A Love Story Lived, then Written. In the novel it is Sofia Moretti-Bennett’s voice: each place left its mark not just on their hearts, but on their palates.

The recipes are adapted traditional dishes for personal use. Full ingredients and steps live in the book. This page is a reader-useful subset: name, region, story beat. The rest is in the novel.

Which dishes from Sofia’s Kitchen can I meet here?

Sicily and the Amalfi Coast lead. Sardinia follows. We do not publish methods on this page.

Pasta alla Norma — Sicily. Staple in Motta Sant’Anastasia; the slower pace that first drew Tom back. Home, grief talks, the trattoria dream. If you cook one plate from the journey, start here. Pairs in the book with Nero d’Avola.

Arancini — Sicily. Fried rice balls; Palermo street-food bites on early adventures. Nero d’Avola at sunset, in the appendix.

Caponata — Sicily. Tangy eggplant stew tied to Cefalù days, also eaten in Motta. Etna Bianco sits nearby in the wine list.

Scialatielli ai frutti di mare — Amalfi Coast. Coastal dinners; pasta of the sea’s rhythm. Also a Ravello cooking-class dish. Falanghina is the Amalfi white beside it.

Delizia al limone — Amalfi Coast. Lemon delight cake; tart sweetness of Amalfi lemons, the sweet close of the dream trattoria. Still Falanghina country.

Totani e patate — Amalfi Coast. Squid and potato stew from Praiano explorations. The appendix points Greco di Tufo toward this plate, or toward caprese.

Fregola con frutti di mare and seadas — Sardinia, secondary. La Maddalena island nights: seafood fregola, honey-cheese pastry. Cannonau under the stars, in the book.

On the page, even when they are not always appendix cards: granita al limone and cannoli in Sicily; panelle in Palermo; ravioli capresi in Ravello; sfogliatella in Amalfi town; pistachio-and-lemon gelato in Positano; caprese on the Path of the Gods–inspired picnic, with pane carasau and Vermentino.

Maria’s line in the novel is the kitchen thesis: food isn’t just fuel; it’s love in a bowl. That is texture, not a recipe card.

Is pasta al limone in Sofia’s Kitchen?

No. Pasta al limone is not in the novel’s recipe appendix. Do not look for it under Sofia’s Kitchen. Pasta alla Norma and delizia al limone are the lemon-adjacent plates that are in the back of the book.

What wines are in the book?

Appendix C is Sofia’s Sunlit Sips — Tom and Sofia’s list from the journey, a toast to second chances. Each profile is a region and style, not a cellar of claimed vintages.

Public teaser, Sicily then Sardinia then Amalfi:

  • Nero d’Avola — Sicily. First toast in Motta, volcanic red of Tom’s return.
  • Etna Bianco — Sicily. Catania terrace white, granita weather, a healing lungomare.
  • Vermentino di Gallura — Sardinia, and the Path of the Gods–inspired picnic.
  • Cannonau di Sardegna — La Maddalena, a bold red under island stars.
  • Falanghina — Amalfi Coast / Positano, lemon-kissed cliffs.
  • Greco di Tufo — Ravello heights.

Fiano appears on the page in Ravello; it is not a separate appendix card. Limoncello is Amalfi texture, not a wine-list entry.

The novel’s wine list also follows them through Malta, Monaco, and Dubai. Those bottles stay in the back of the book.

Are the restaurants in the book real?

Some named stops are real places that appear in the novel (a pastry counter in Amalfi town, a family table in Praiano). Tramonti d’Amore — the couple’s trattoria — is invented. Do not treat it as a Positano listing.

This page is not a restaurant guide. It is a door into the novel.
